About Made in HTX

My journey into beaded bag design started with a simple idea: I wanted one bag. Just one — something bold, beautiful and bright orange that I could carry to all my favorite Multiple Sclerosis events, a disease I've battled since 2021. 

But that's not quite how it went. After finishing my first orange bag, I was hooked — and I immediately wanted to try a different design. Then, after the second one came together, I realized something was missing: a matching wallet. One bag turned into two, and two turned into a whole collection - I couldn't stop creating.

I loved every minute of it. There's something meditative about stringing bead after bead, watching a design slowly take shape in your hands. What I didn't expect was how much other people would love them too. I took my first batch of bags and wallets to an in-person show, and I'll never forget the reactions — the audible gasps, the "oh my, I love that!" as people picked out their favorites. Watching them light up over something I made with my own two hands told me everything I needed to know: they were going to enjoy these bags just as much as I enjoyed making them.

What began as a personal project for myself has become something so much bigger — a small business rooted in creativity, resilience, and joy. Every bag I make carries a piece of that story with it.
